A Glamour Photographer since 1985, Sanjay Vaidya, turns the spotlight on some of the most enduring icons of Gujarati Literature of our times, Dr. Gunvant Shah, Chandrakant Bakshi, Dr. Suresh Dalal, Ramesh Parekh, Vinod Bhatt, Tarak Mehta etc. through a chain of photo-books called 'E-series'. He turned to publishing in 2001 and since then he has compiled and edited the most cherished account of its kind, along with their candid photographs ever published in the field of literature.
He plans to continue this phenomenal journey with launch of an Interactive Archive of major Gujarati literary figures. He dreams of blending his art of photography with the compositions of poets of foreign languages
Sanjay grew up in a literary and intellectually stimulated environment and treated his academic career casually. In his search for a creative self, he often found himself standing at an intersection where his ideology can meet with his expression. Although being in a constant hustle-bustle with academics, he completed his graduation in English Literature & Post Graduation in Journalism. He began his professional journey with photo-journalism and fashion photography. After spending major years of his life in the glamour world, he moved to the quest for a life in literature and photography full time. From being a colourful paparazzi, Sanjay turned to portrait & landscape photography and publishing to make the journey of life meaningful. He has edited over fifteen books of prose and poetry including some best-sellers which have rocked the stands since 2006. At this point in life, he only captures and publishes what touches his inner core and when he believes that it needs to be shared with a larger audience. His journey of being true to himself is still going on because finding yourself is not a sprint but a marathon.
In these years, he has travelled extensively for various projects through India, Nepal, Bangladesh and South-East and Middle-East countries and captured some amazing frames. His work has been published in many newspapers & magazines like Hindustan Times, The Express Group, Gujarat Samachar, Divya Bhaskar, Chitralekha etc. He has brought to the world of fashion & literature, a unique personal style that is immensely appreciated and widely imitated. Number of 'one-man shows' of his photographs have been held in Ahmedabad, Bombay, New Delhi, Kolkata, Baroda & Coimbatore at regular intervals.
